First Place Juror Award at Plastic Fantastic

From over 350 submitted photographs by over 90 photographers from around the world, distinguished Juror Susan Burnstine has chosen my Self Portrait at the Arts Center as her First Place Juror Award at the 5th Annual Plastic Fantastic Exhibit at the LightBox Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. The photograph is an in-camera multiple exposure made with a Brownie Hawkeye camera in 1984.

Ms Burnstine states: “Kenny Gray’s Self-portrait is a powerful and haunting image that effectively exhibits how “happy accidents” can create wonderful works of art. What makes this image so fascinating is that it benefits from various emotional layers that can affect every viewer in a different manner, thus creating a potent and diverse narrative.”

This year the exhibit, which opens June 14 and runs thru July 8, includes the work of photographers from around the world, including Ireland, Moldova, Spain, Great Britain, Germany as well as Ontario and British Columbia.  More information on the exhibit.
